The deep things we need to unlearn
can’t be solved or finalised, concluded or neatly organized
The deep things we need to unlearn need time.
Because it’s in the contrast between tension and urgency and mammalian hibernation that they alchemise.
The deep things that challenge us need space, so that they can be felt and breathed.
The deep things we need to unlearn, hurt and rip, confront us and push us to the edge of the abyss of not knowing.
The deep things we need to unlearn leave us on the edge of ignorance, fragmented and more lost than ever.
But lifting the heavy cloaks and thin, frayed skins of the deep things we need to unlearn opens up a space of affective tenderness where we can listen to the power of Life.
Because the deep things we need to unlearn are not to be forgotten, exiled or forbidden.
But to be fiercely and gently composted. Left to transform.
We need time, patience, devotion, and digestion. No rush, because alchemy doesn’t happen overnight.
Because the deep things we need to unlearn can’t be solved, concluded or neatly organized, they don’t end or fall apart easily. They are part of a vast metabolism that swallowed us up long ago.
The deep things we need to unlearn twist the threads of our psyche, as if we were ourselves.
